The Honda Accord is a family sedan that's received multiple accolades since 2010, including Top Safety Pick, Top 10 Family Cars, and most recently, the IIHS 2022 Top Safety Pick in recognition of the Accord's superior crash-safety performance. This should immediately catch your attention, as this is clearly a top-of-the-line vehicle.

What's great about the Accord is that while it's a family sedan, it's still a fantastic car for singles and couples. So if you're in the market for a new vehicle, this should be a top contender.

2023

New Features

The 2022 Accord brings some new things to the table. However, they're not so drastic that it feels like a brand new and distinct model. In fact, they're just subtle changes that add to the experience whenever you're behind the wheel.

Here's what Honda's added to the 2022 model.

A New Sport Trim Level

A new Sport trim level replaces the EX trim in the Accord Hybrid lineup and features 19-inch alloy wheels, a black rear spoiler, LED headlights and foglights, heated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, satellite radio and sport pedals.

Existing Standout Features

The new features sound great, but what else does the Accord come with?

Below are some existing standout features you'll benefit from.

Excellent Pricing

Buying a new car is always an expensive endeavor. If the one you're looking at is too pricey, then you may need to get a loan, which sometimes requires a down payment.

The good news is, the 2022 Honda Accord has fair pricing. The base trim has an MSRP of just under $27,000, which isn't bad for a family sedan.

Of course, if you want the highest trim (Touring) with all possible features, this will cost you. But even the Touring trim has an MSRP of just under $38,000, so that's still not bad.

Easy-to-Use Infotainment System

The infotainment system is very user-friendly. The graphics are large and clear, so you won't have to fumble with them. This is made even easier with the inputs that respond quickly when you touch the screen.

For a standard Accord, you'll get Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, Bluetooth, and a four-speaker stereo. Upgrades include satellite radio, navigation, wireless device charging, and an eight-speaker premium stereo.

Powerful Engines

The base engine is a four-cylinder one that's capable of 192 HP. This is plenty for everyday driving.

However, there are some upgrades available. The top trim, the Touring, has a turbo 4 cylinder engine that's capable of 252 horsepower.

The base model's transmission is packed with a CVT (continuously variable transmission), while the top trim is stacked with a 10 speed automatic transmission.

Roomy Interior

Some sedans can be hit or miss with their interior space. A car may look spacious from the outside, but when you get inside, it can feel claustrophobic.

The 2022 Honda Accord is well-designed in that not only does it have an amazing exterior, but it also has a comfortable interior. The vehicle seats five people, and no matter where you're sitting, you'll have plenty of head and legroom.

Also, there are 16.7 cubic feet of trunk space. If you fold down the split-folding rear seats, then you can fit bigger things into the trunk.

Great Gas Mileage

As gas prices rise, it's vital that you get a vehicle that won't drain your bank account every time you fuel up. The 2022 Honda Accord is an excellent choice because it has one of the best fuel efficiencies for sedans and midsize cars.

If you get the base engine, you'll get 38 MPG on the highway and 30 MPG in the city. With the 2.0-liter engine, this decreases to 22 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway.

Many Safety Features

The 2022 Accord is packed with standard safety features, even in the base trim. They include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning with lane keep assist. Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is optional.

With so many safety features, it's no surprise that the newest Honda Accord received an overall safety rating of five out of five stars from the NHTSA. The IIHS has also named it a 2022 Top Safety Pick. Needless to say, you'll get peace of mind when you're in this vehicle.

It's true that there aren't many new features for the 2022 model, but why would you fix something that's not broken? The Accord's provided reliable rides since the mid-1970s, so when you purchase this car, you're getting security and safety on the road. Plus, with its affordable price, you won't have to spend much to have a dependable vehicle for the foreseeable future.
