Exploring the 2023 Honda Hybrid Vehicle Line-up

There has never been a better choice of Honda hybrid vehicles. Here's a comparison of the hybrid vehicles available right now.

Honda has made a name for itself by making long-lasting, quality, yet affordable vehicles. This includes an entire line of environmentally friendly, fuel-efficient hybrid cars and SUVs. (Sadly, a hybrid option did not happen for the Ridgeline, Hondas pickup, in 2023, but we have our fingers crossed for next year.)

Each year, the Honda hybrid lineup changes. It can be difficult to keep up with new models and features for each type.

Below is a comprehensive listing of Hondas entire 2023 hybrid lineup. It includes features for each trim level as well as pricing and other information. Keep reading to determine which one might best meet your driving needs, lifestyle, and budget.

Honda CR-V

The Honda hybrid system underwent a complete revamp for 2023. It couples a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder gas engine with two electric motors, for a combined 204-horsepower output.

Honda also completely redid the body of the CR-V to give it a much sportier look, with more angular features and a longer wheelbase. The larger frame adds space to the Honda CR-V hybrid compared to its older counterparts.

It also has been upgraded with more chrome features and hexagonal metal air vent trim. This gives it the appearance of a luxury car (a common complaint about older CR-Vs is that their interiors resembled the Odyssey minivan).

The 2023 CR-V hybrids have the best fuel efficiency of any SUV the manufacturer has put out to date. You can expect between 34 and 37 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway and in the low- to mid-40-mpg range in the city.

CR-V hybrids come with plenty of safety features in all trim levels. These include cross-traffic motion sensors, lane departure adjustments, and collision mitigation. There are two trim levels available with distinct features and at different price points.

CR-V Sport Hybrid

The Sport Hybrid comes with 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, roof rails, and duel exhaust finishers, which give it a sportier appearance.

The interior features cloth seats with orange stitching. It comes with heated front seats and a power driver's seat. The CR-V Sport Hybrid starts new at under $33,000.

CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid

The CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid is the manufacturers highest trim level (hybrid or otherwise). As mentioned, the CR-V Touring comes standard as a hybrid.

Like the basic Sport Hybrid, it comes with roof rails and dual exhaust finishers, but is upgraded with 19-inch alloy wheels. It also has leather-trimmed seats and a wireless phone charger. It adds parking sensors and a blind-spot warning to its backup camera system.

The Touring edition also adds all-wheel-drive, which does diminish its fuel efficiency a bit from the basic Sport Hybrid. You can expect to get around 40 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. The CR-V Sport Touring comes in at just over $40,00 new, though you may find special deals.

Honda Accord

Honda discontinued the Insight last year (including the Insight hybrid), the Clarity plug-in hybrid in 2021, and the Civic hybrid in 2015 (note that they have announced that the Civic hybrid will be rejoining the lineup in 2024). This makes the Honda Accord hybrid the lone hybrid sedan in the 2023 lineup.

The good news is that there are a lot of trim levels and features to choose from. Regardless of features, across the board the fuel efficiency of the Accord Hybrid is impressive. You can expect to get 48 mpg on the highway and upwards of 51 mpg in the city.

Accord Sport and Sport-L Hybrid

The 2023 edition marks 11 generations of the Honda Accord. Much like the CR-V, the hybrid option comes standard in the four upper trim levels. The two lowest (LX and EX) are non-hybrid versions.

The Sport Hybrid Accord is very reasonably priced, starting at a little over $30,000. It comes with a 204-horsepower hybrid powertrain similar to the setup in the CR-V hybrid. It has a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas engine with two electric motors.

The Sport comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and a decklid spoiler. It has a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, and it integrates with your smartphone through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Sport-L adds leather seats to the Sport trim configuration. It also includes a power passengers seat.

Accord EX-L Hybrid

At a higher price point is the Accord EX-L Hybrid. Like almost all Honda models, the EX-L is the EX with leather seats. In this case, the EX-L also comes as a hybrid (whereas the EX does not).

It also includes parking sensors and a power drivers seat with a memory function. Like the EX, it has a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, blind-spot notifications, and heated front seats. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels.

Accord Touring Hybrid

As with the other options on this list, the Accord Touring comes standard as a hybrid (i.e., there is no non-hybrid Accord Touring). It is Hondas highest trim level, with Google-based apps built into the infotainment system, as well as a wireless phone charger.

The Touring edition comes with heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear seats. It also has an upgraded audio system, complete with Bose speakers.
The Accord Touring Hybrid is very modestly priced, especially considering all the features. It starts at under $40,000.
